Add a Meeting
Starting a new CEA-HOW meeting is easy—and encouraged!
Starting a new CEA-HOW meeting (also called a group) requires two or more people, one of whom must have 30 days of CEA-HOW abstinence, be a qualified food sponsor, and be working with a sponsor of his/her own.
Only those meetings which meet the following criteria may be registered with the World Service Office as a CEA-HOW meeting.
The meeting must:
- Meet with the purpose of practicing the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of CEA-HOW
- Welcome all who have a desire to stop eating compulsively
- Have a minimum of two individuals
- Have no affiliation other than CEA-HOW
- Read The Twelve Steps of CEA-HOW, The Twelve Traditions of CEA-HOW, The CEA-HOW Concept, and The Seven Tools of CEA-HOW as written
- Adhere to abstinence requirements to pitch, per the 7 Tools of CEA-HOW
- Use only CEA-HOW or AA Conference approved literature. Outside literature is not read or quoted
If your group meets these requirements, please complete the following online form. If you do not know your Area or Intergroup number, we will complete the information for you. After review, WSO will either accept or return the request for additional information. Upon approval of your Application for Registration, WSO will assign your new meeting number and provide you with instructions and a New Meeting packet to help you get started.

Update Meeting Information:
Please help us to keep this information current. We encourage Meeting Secretaries to update meeting information as it changes to keep the site current. This will also ensure WSO has the current contact information necessary to communicate the latest changes and news to the Secretaries of CEA-HOW Meetings and Intergroups.
We now have a new automated process to update meeting information. You can get there by going to Meetings/Find a Meeting and scroll down to the Add Edit or Close links. Or you can click here: Add, Edit, Close a Meeting.
Close a Meeting:
Please use this option when requesting to close a meeting. Upon completing the information and submitting, WSO will review the request and either accept it, or return it pending further information which will be noted in the response. Please allow 7-10 business days for a response.
If you don’t know the meeting number, please go to the search function, find your meeting. You will find the meeting number in the “More Info” drop down.
